HAT Run 50K
The HAT Run is a 50K trail ultramarathon held at Susquehanna State Park in Havre de Grace, MD on March 20, 2027. The course is mostly single track trail with stretches of open fields, dirt road and some paved road. The route includes a 3 mile starting loop followed by two identical 14 mile loops and totals nearly 4,300 feet of climbing. Runners will encounter four stream crossings that can result in wet feet depending on water levels.
Race headquarters and the start and finish are at the Steppingstone Farm Museum. A covered Start/Finish Pavilion serves as a place to leave drop bags and finish bags. Friday packet pickup is held in the garage near the back of the parking lot.
Aid stations are placed around the course and include both full stations and water only stops. Full stations provide water, Gatorade, Coke and a range of food items such as peanut butter and jelly, cookies, chips, orange slices, bananas, grilled cheese and quesadillas. Ultra Fries and pierogies are available later in the day. Gels and salt tabs are not supplied.
The starting field is limited to 350 runners with a waiting list once the field fills. Entries are not transferable or deferrable. The organizer maintains a stated refund policy for withdrawals and a cancellation policy that explains possible outcomes if the event is canceled or stopped. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
