Harwich Triathlon 2026
Harwich Triathlon takes place on the coastal peninsula at the Essex-Suffolk border from 13 June 2026 to 14 June 2026. The event has run since 2004 and includes a weekend of organised triathlon races for a range of ages.
Races and distances:
- Olympic: 1500 m sea swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run along Harwich promenade.
- Sprint: 300 m pool swim, 24 km bike, 5 km run along Harwich promenade.
- Junior categories: Under 9s, 9 to 12s, and 13 to 15s with shorter pool swims, grass cycles, and grass runs.
Junior distances by age group:
- Under 9s: 50 m pool swim, 1 km cycle on grass, 600 m run on grass.
- Ages 9 to 12: 150 m pool swim, 2 km cycle on grass, 1.2 km run on grass.
- Ages 13 to 15: 150 m pool swim, 3 km cycle on grass, 2.4 km run on grass.
Race headquarters and transition areas are specified for each race: the Oval Shelter near the boating lake on Harwich promenade for the Olympic events and Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles Pool for the sprint and junior races. Junior competitors must use a road worthy bike without stabilisers and wear a helmet; all junior sections must be completed unassisted. Medals are awarded to all junior finishers.
Entry fees and a British Triathlon Race Pass requirement apply. Some race categories show waiting list or closed status and others remain open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
