About the race
Harwich Triathlon is a multi-race event held in Harwich, Essex. The programme includes Olympic, Sprint and several junior races, with chip timing and race splits provided after finish.
The organiser provides on-course marshals and volunteers, guidance for participants, finisher medals and t-shirts, and food available for purchase. The Olympic race features a sea swim; if conditions make the sea swim unsafe the Olympic race will be run as a duathlon and no refunds will be issued. The Sprint and junior races use pool swims.
Race distances include:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 m sea swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint Triathlon: 300 m pool swim, 25 km bike, 5 km run
- Junior U9 tri: 50 m pool swim, 1 km bike, 600 m run
- Junior 9–12 tri: 150 m pool swim, 2 km bike, 1.2 km run
- Junior 13–15 tri: 150 m pool swim, 3 km bike, 2.4 km run
