Harvest Trail Running Festival
The Harvest Trail Running Festival takes place in Farmersville, Texas, utilizing the scenic Chaparral Trail. The event base is located at The Onion Shed on South Main Street. The course features a mix of surfaces, including paved sections, dirt, and crushed gravel. The terrain is relatively flat, with approximately 130 feet of elevation gain per 15.5-mile out-and-back loop.
The festival offers a variety of distances to accommodate different preferences:
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 10K Ruck
This is a cupless event, meaning participants are required to carry their own water-carrying system with a minimum capacity of 16 ounces for all distances except the 5K. Aid stations along the route provide water, electrolytes, and various hot and cold foods. For the 10K Ruck event, specific weight requirements apply based on the participant's body weight.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal and a T-shirt, while those completing the 10K Ruck receive a specific patch. Special awards are presented to the first-place male and female finishers in each distance, and a "dead freakin' last" award is designated for the final 50K finisher. Parking is available at Rike Field and the J.W. Spain Complex on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
