Harvest Moon Run 5k and 8k
The Harvest Moon event takes place in Axton and Martinsville, Virginia. The courses utilize the Uptown Connection and the Dick and Willie Passage trails. These paths feature a smooth, paved asphalt surface for participants. The event location centers around the Gazebo on Depot Street, which serves as both the starting and finishing point for the races.
The event offers three distinct participation options:
- 8K running race
- 5K running race
- 5K ruck
Registration for these events closes in late August. Participants can collect their race packets at the Martinsville YMCA on the day of the event during the afternoon, or at the Gazebo site shortly before the activities begin.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers and to leaders within specific age groups. During and following the races, the venue provides live music and beer for those in attendance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
