BRIDGE2BRIDGE - Danville, VA
BRIDGE2BRIDGE is presented by the Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, Visit SoSi, the Danville Running and Fitness Club, and Danville Parks & Recreation. The event takes place at Danville Community Market, 629 Craghead Street, Danville, VA 24541.
The program includes multiple in-person distances and virtual options:
- 0.5 miles Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under
- 3.1 miles 5K Run and 5K Walk (timed)
- 6.2 miles 10K Run
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
Wheelchair participant categories are offered for some distances. A wheelchair participant is typically someone being pushed in an event-appropriate stroller; both the person being pushed and the pusher must register. The half marathon carries a time limit of 2:45:00, approximately a 12:35 per mile pace.
Proceeds benefit the Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, a local 501(c)(3) organization. The association provides travel reimbursement, prescriptions, nutrition, medical supplies and equipment, prostheses, wigs, and emotional and educational support. Since inception, Bridge2Bridge Danville has raised over $1,305,000 to assist cancer patients in Danville and Pittsylvania County. In 2026 the event involved over 1,000 participants, enabling support for medications, wigs, travel expenses, and other patient needs.
