BRIDGE2BRIDGE - Danville, VA
BRIDGE2BRIDGE is a community running and walking event held in Danville at the Danville Community Market, 629 Craghead Street, on April 10, 2027. The event is organized by Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, Visit SoSi, The Danville Running and Fitness Club, and Danville Parks & Recreation. It includes in-person and virtual options and offers designated entries for wheelchair participants.
The event supports local cancer patients. Since inception the event has raised over $1,140,000 to benefit cancer patients within Danville and Pittsylvania County. In 2025 more than 1000 people took part. Funds support direct assistance programs that provide travel reimbursement, prescriptions, nutrition, medical supplies and equipment, prostheses, wigs, and emotional and educational support.
Offered distances and formats include:
- Half marathon 13.1 Miles
- 10K 6.2 Miles
- 5K 3.1 Miles
- 0.5 Mile kids fun run for ages 10 and under
- Virtual 5K and 10K options
The half marathon has a published time limit of 2 hours 45 minutes. Wheelchair participant entries are available and both the pushed participant and the pusher must register according to event guidelines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
