Harrison Community 5K
The Harrison Community 5K is a community road race organized by the Purpose Runners Foundation and held in May in Harrison, New Jersey. The event base is at Veterans Plaza on Harrison Avenue, with a course that runs through the Town of Harrison and West Hudson Park.
The course combines flat sections and moderate inclines and includes water stations at the start/finish area and at mid-course. Professional chip timing is provided and every running participant receives an official finisher medal. Results are published live and delivered by text and email, and official race photos and same-day finish line pictures are available.
Event amenities listed by the organizer include a race T-shirt, free finish line photos, a personalized bib option for those registered three weeks in advance, a DJ, a post-race yoga session, and a massage and recovery station. There is an on site recovery zone and photo opportunities as part of the community gathering atmosphere.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and to top three in each age group including 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 plus. Early bib pickup is organized at a local fitness studio and day-of pickup is handled by event staff. Free public parking is available near the event area and the PATH train to Harrison Station is within walking distance of the start/finish location.
