Harrison Community 5K
The Harrison Community 5K is a community road race organized by the Purpose Runners Foundation at Veterans Plaza on Harrison Avenue in Harrison, New Jersey. The course runs through the Town of Harrison and West Hudson Park and includes a combination of flat sections and moderate inclines. All running participants receive an official finisher medal and the event uses professional chip timing by Elitefeats. Results are available live via online, text, and email, and official race photos are provided, including free finish line photos and same-day finish line video.
Amenities include a personalized bib for those who register three weeks in advance, a race T shirt, DJ music, a post-race yoga session, a massage and recovery station, photo opportunities, and a community gathering atmosphere. Water stations are located at the start and finish area and at a mid-course station. A recovery zone is available after the race.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers with trophies for those places, and age group awards for the top three male and female in these brackets: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Early bib pickup is offered on May 30 at CKO Kickboxing, 1100 Frank E. Rodgers Blvd, Harrison, NJ; day of pickup is available from event staff. Free public parking is available near the event area and public transportation access is possible via the PATH train to Harrison Station, within walking distance of the start and finish.
