YMCA Harrisburg Mile Presented by First National Bank
The YMCA Harrisburg Mile is a community running and walking event held in Downtown Harrisburg. The event marks the Mile's 45th year and coincides with the YMCA's 175th anniversary. Multiple heats and formats are offered across the program.
There are both timed and untimed options, including age group heats for the Mile and an Elite Mile with qualifying standards. Qualifying times for the Elite Mile are: ages 39 and under - Men 4:40, Women 5:30; ages 40 and older - Men 5:00, Women 6:00. A Fun 1 Mile walk/run heat is untimed and includes an optional 1/2 mile Half Pint course.
Additional formats include:
- 1 mile events in timed and untimed heats
- 1/2 mile Half Pint option
- quarter mile Salute and Survive walk for veterans and cancer survivors
A Corporate Challenge is organized with team divisions. A Virtual Mile option allows participants to run remotely; race packets are mailed to virtual participants. Registration opens January 15, 2026. Entry fees vary by event, for example the Fun walk/run fee is $16, the Mile heats and Elite entry fees are listed at $18, the Corporate Challenge fee is $120, the Virtual Mile is $26, and veterans or cancer survivors may participate in the Salute and Survive walk at no cost.
