Happy Tails 5K Run & 1K Walk - Event details
The Happy Tails 5K Run & 1K Walk is scheduled for April 19, 2026, at Lions Field, 2459 W. Elk Ave, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The event is organized as a fundraiser for the Friends of Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1K Walk
Proceeds will support shelter animals and contribute to the construction of a new spay and neuter clinic at 131 Sycamore Shoals Drive. Friendly, socialized dogs on a leash are permitted to participate alongside human participants.
Participation protocols and event rules are stated for all entrants. All participants must be registered and wear their official race bib. Runners must follow the designated course; shortcuts or off-course running may result in disqualification. The event is open to runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. Bicycles, skateboards, and rollerblades are not permitted. Baby strollers are allowed in the back of the starting pack. Headphones are permitted, but participants should remain alert to traffic and course directions.
The race will be timed by We Run Events using B tags attached to the back of the bib. Results will be available after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
