Event description
The 6th annual memorial 5K run/walk takes place at Nichols Park in Jacksonville, Illinois 62650. The event offers both an in-person run/walk and a virtual option, each covering the same distance.
- 3 Miles, in-person run or walk
- 3 Miles, virtual option completed at participant convenience
The course follows a paved path through the park and includes sections with inclines and declines. A visual timer will be displayed for participants, but individual runners will not receive individual timing.
There is a water station at the halfway point on the course. At the finish area participants are provided with water and a snack.
Registration details list a fee for the in-person entry and a separate fee for the virtual option. Registration opens on March 24 and closes in late September, with the virtual option having a slightly later close date. Participants who choose the virtual option are sent a shirt and event materials by mail within the continental United States; those mailed items may arrive after the fourth of the month.
