Hankley Common 10 km guided trail run

This is a guided trail run of approximately 10 km that starts and finishes at Hankley Common Lower Car Park, Elstead, Surrey. The route uses estate tracks and open trails that provide varied terrain and scenic views across the common. A car park is available at the meeting point. The listed cost is £16 per person.

The route includes a visit to a reinforced concrete replica of a section of the Atlantic Wall, constructed in 1943 as a training aid. The area is also used as a Ministry of Defence training ground and participants may pass service personnel training on the common. The location is noted for wildlife and for having been used in film and television productions.

Runs are offered in both evening light and after dark. Evening sessions use dusk conditions while night sessions are run by headtorch in a group setting. The event is run at a steady, non-competitive group pace; participants should be able to sustain roughly 10 minutes per mile or 6 minutes per kilometre on trails. A full kit list will be provided in advance. Headtorches and trail shoes are available to trial on request, and a complimentary alcohol free beer may be offered at the end of the run subject to availability.

An experienced guide and coach leads the group and handles navigation and route planning so participants can focus on running in a guided, supervised environment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
