Hankley Common 10km

The event is a guided trail run on Hankley Common, Elstead, Surrey. Scheduled dates include 14 January 2026 and 24 March 2026. The run starts and finishes at Hankley Common Lower Car Park. Distance: 10km. The stated cost is £16 per person. A car park is available at the meeting point.

Format and practical information

The run is conducted as a group rather than a race. Participants should be able to comfortably maintain an average pace of 10 min per mile | 6 min per km on trail for prolonged periods. The route visits local points of interest, including a reinforced concrete replica of the Atlantic Wall built in 1943 in an area known as the Lion's Mouth. The common is an active MOD training area and a habitat for rare wildlife; the organiser notes runners may encounter military training activity on the route. Runs during lighter months are described as sunset runs, and runs during darker months are night runs using headtorches in a group environment. A full kit list will be provided before the run. Silva headtorches and Salomon trail shoes are available to trial. The organiser also lists an alcohol-free beer partner; a complimentary beer may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability. Hankley Common is accessed by car just off the A3. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
