Event details

The Hankley Common 10km is a guided trail run held in Hankley Common, Elstead, Surrey. Scheduled dates include 14 January 2026 and 24 March 2026. The route starts and finishes at Hankley Common Lower Car Park. The distance is 10km and the entry cost is £16 per person. A car park is available at the meeting point.

Logistics and route features

The run visits a reinforced concrete replica of a section of the Atlantic Wall, constructed in 1943 in an area known as the Lion's Mouth and used historically as a training aid. Hankley Common is an active MOD training area and is also noted for wildlife and for use as a film location. The event is led by a qualified guide and coach.

Participants should be able to run comfortably at an average pace of 10 min/miles | 6 min/km on trails for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided. Silva head torches will be available to trial and Salomon trail shoes may be available for testing. The location is easily accessed by car, just off the A3.
