26th Annual Hank Aaron State Trail 5K Run/Walk
The event is the 26th annual 5K run and walk held on August 8, 2026, along the Hank Aaron State Trail in Milwaukee. The course is described as flat and fast and winds through Three Bridges Park and restored prairie along a former rail and industrial corridor.
The event typically attracts more than 1,500 participants of various ages and abilities. Participants may choose professional timing to record a personal time or take part in a community family-friendly stroll. Strollers are welcome and dogs are not permitted.
Competition elements include prizes for teams and awards for the top three male and female finishers in fifteen age categories. Teams of eight or more are eligible for a registration deal, receive a logo on their t-shirts, and may qualify for team prizes. Race results are posted online immediately on the day of the event.
On-site features include a live DJ, complimentary coffee, tea and pre-race goodies, and post-event food options such as ice cream and burgers. The event serves as a fundraiser; proceeds support the Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail and programs such as Bike Adventure Camp for youth. A silent auction is noted to take place online in July.
