Diablito 50/50
Diablito 50/50 is a trail ultramarathon held at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, Louisiana. The event offers two race distances:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
The course uses the River Trail, a five mile loop that runs along the Tickfaw River. Participants should be aware that poisonous snakes and alligators may be on or near the trail. There are two aid stations: an unmanned station near the halfway point with water, electrolytes, snacks, and ice, and a main aid station at the start/finish area with ice, electrolyte water, soda, snacks, and fully cooked food.
Tickfaw State Park features a nature center with an 800 gallon aquarium and displays about local wildlife, history, and culture. Visitors can walk over a mile of boardwalks through four ecosystems: a cypress and tupelo swamp, a bottomland hardwood forest, a mixed pine and hardwood forest, and the Tickfaw River area. The park offers lodging and camping options including 30 improved campsites, 20 unimproved campsites, and cabins or group camp units; basic cookware and linens are provided in cabins while visitors must bring their own food and personal supplies.
Swag includes a T shirt, headbands, and a cooling car seat towel. Finishers receive a medal and the top three male and female in each distance receive custom awards. Registration closes July 20 at 11:59 PM CT. Discounts are available for military, donors, and first responders with proof sent within 24 hours.
