Diablito 50/50 - July 24, 2027
Diablito 50/50 is a trail ultrarunning event held at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, LA and organized by BTR. The event offers two distance options:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
The course uses a 4-mile trail loop that passes along the river and through multiple ecosystems, including cypress-tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood forest, and mixed pine-hardwood forest. Trails on the loop include Gum Cypress Trail, Pine Hardwood Trail, River Overlook / Bottomland Hardwood Trail, and River Trail. Wildlife typical of the area may be present on or near the trails; poisonous snakes, alligators, and other wildlife are noted as possible encounters.
Both distances have a 14-hour cutoff. The route includes two aid stations on course with water, and a stocked start/finish area offering fruit, sandwiches, snacks, electrolytes, and other food and hydration items. Finish-line meal service will include red beans and rice with vegan options noted.
On-site lodging options at Tickfaw State Park include improved and unimproved campsites, cabins, and a group camp. Cabins are supplied with basic cookware and linens; guests are advised to bring personal supplies. All participants receive event swag including a Dri-Fit race shirt, a speed cup, and a portable power bank charger. Awards include finisher medals and top awards.
