About the race

Diablito 50/50 is an ultrarunning event held at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, LA on July 24, 2027. The event offers two distances and follows a 4-mile trail loop that runs alongside the Tickfaw River and through multiple ecosystems, including cypress-tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood forest, and mixed pine-hardwood forest.

The loop course includes the Gum Cypress Trail, Pine Hardwood Trail, River Overlook / Bottomland Hardwood Trail, and River Trail. The route passes elevated boardwalks and river-side sections. Wildlife typical of the area may be present on or near the trails, including poisonous snakes and alligators; participants should be aware of their surroundings.

Cutoff time is 14 hours for both distances. The start/finish area will provide an aid station with a variety of food and hydration options, and there are two aid stations on the route with water. A finish line meal of red beans and rice will be served, with vegan options noted to be available.

Race swag includes a Dri-Fit moisture-wicking race shirt, a Speed Cup, and a portable power bank charger. Lodging options at Tickfaw State Park include improved and unimproved campsites, cabins, and a group camp; cabins come with basic cookware and linens, while group camp guests must bring their own dishes and linens.
