Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest : Airlie Beach, QLD
The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest takes place in Airlie Beach and marks its 20th year in 2026. The event is organised by the Whitsunday Running Club, which has hosted the festival for eleven years. Race precinct activities and race pack collection occur on the day before the event at the Airlie Beach Saturday markets and foreshore.
Race options include:
- WTF58 Accom Whitsunday Ultra, 58 km out and back
- WTF28 Whitsunday Trail, 28 km point to point
- Honeyeater Shokz Challenge, 11 km trail
- Bendigo Community Bank Kids Beach Bash, approx 700 m and 1 mile events
The WTF58 ascends into Conway Circuit National Park and is self supported for the first 28 km until the Brandy Creek turnaround. Terrain includes fire trail, narrow walking tracks, steep sections on dirt and rock, rough underfoot areas and creek crossings. Minimum age for the ultra is 18 and participants are expected to have sufficient trail experience and gear.
The WTF28 runs from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach, requires mandatory gear checks, and has limited water stations; its cutoff time is 6 hours 30 minutes. The Honeyeater 11 km climbs toward a lookout over the Coral Sea, has a 3 hour cutoff and requires a minimum age of 15. Junior and kids beach races run along the Airlie Beach foreshore with age minimums of 4 and 8 years respectively.
Race packs include an event shirt guaranteed for entries by 30 June 2026, a finishers medal, numbered bib and pins. Sponsors include Anaconda and Bendigo Community Bank.
