Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest - Airlie Beach QLD
The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026 in Airlie Beach, Queensland. The event marks the 20th edition of the festival and is organised by the Whitsunday Running Club, which has hosted it for eleven years. Pre-race registration and race pack collection occur at the race precinct on Saturday 12 September.
The program includes multiple trail and beach races held along the Airlie Beach foreshore and nearby trails. Race packs include an event shirt (guaranteed for entries by 30 June 2026), a finishers medal, numbered bib and pins; kids medals may vary.
Course and entry notes:
- The WTF58 Accom Whitsunday Ultra is an out-and-back that ascends into Conway Circuit National Park. The first 28 km are self-supported until the Brandy Creek turnaround. The trail includes fire trail and narrow walking tracks, steep sections, rough terrain and creek crossings. Minimum age 18 and experienced trail running ability required.
- The WTF28 Whitsunday Trail is a point-to-point from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach. Mandatory gear checks are performed at race pack collection and water stations are minimal; the cutoff is 6 hours 30 minutes.
- The Honeyeater Shokz Challenge 11k ascends to a lookout over the Coral Sea, has a 15 year minimum age and a 3 hour cutoff.
- Two beach races for children run along the Airlie Beach foreshore: a junior ~700 m event for ages 4 and up, and a roughly 1 mile kids race for ages 8 and up. Distances may vary with the tides.
The event lists local sponsors and supports fundraising for community organisations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
