About the race
The Halloween Half Marathon at Glensheshkin Woods, County Cork, is a marked trail race over a distance of 21.00 km with 475 m of ascent. The event is part of the Munster Half-Marathon League and uses GPS devices. The course is fully marked and a short course distance is noted as the same listed distance.
Entries were priced at €25 and the event reached capacity; entries closed on Thursday 29th October 2026 and the field is shown as sold out. The event difficulty is rated 6 with moderate terrain and an elevation band between 200 m and 500 m.
All runners must carry mandatory Level B kit. The required items listed are a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. A head torch and spare batteries are noted as part of the kit to be carried. Organisers will finalise and advise the exact kit to be carried at registration. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to have required items can lead to denial of entry or disqualification. Runners should have means to carry the kit.
The assembly location is 1 km east of Kilworth Village at Glensheshkin Woods. Parking is very limited and car pooling is strongly advised to reduce traffic. Prizes include hampers for the first three men and women, prizes for best costume, and a 9 litre dry bag given to all at registration.
