Medal Madness Running Event in Columbus
The Medal Madness event takes place in Columbus, Georgia, at Rotary Park. This competitive running event features multiple distances conducted on a paved course. Participants must register in advance through the online system, as no on-site registration is available on the day of the event. Packet pickup is organized at the venue shortly before the races begin.
The event offers several race distances to suit different preferences:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The course layout varies by distance but follows an out-and-back format. For the 5K and 10K participants, the course is based on a 1.56-mile out-and-back loop. Those running the 5K complete this loop two times, while 10K runners complete it four times. The Half Marathon follows a longer 2.16-mile out-and-back loop, which must be completed six times.
A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes is enforced for all participants. Finisher medals are awarded to those who complete their respective distances, and a best costume award is presented at the event.
