Event Overview
The US Road Running event in Augusta, Georgia, features a series of road races held within a local park setting. Participants can choose between three different distances as part of the themed Medal Madness race series. This event is open to the public and serves as a qualifying race for the US Road Running Race Series, allowing participants to earn points toward their annual standings.
Course Information
All races are conducted on an out-and-back course located within the park. The terrain is consistent for all runners, with the number of loops determined by the selected distance:
- 5K: Participants complete the out-and-back course one time.
- 10K: Participants complete the out-and-back course two times.
- Half Marathon: Participants complete the out-and-back course four times.
There is a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances.
Logistics and Participation
Registration must be completed online prior to the event, as there is no option for on-site registration. Packet pickup is organized at the race location shortly before the start. Parking is available for all attendees at the trailhead and near Lake Olmstead Trailhead / Ann Boardman Park areas.
While not mandatory, participants are encouraged to wear costumes during the race. All finishers receive a themed medal upon completion of their distance.
