Medal Madness 5K, 10K and Half Marathon - Gadsden, AL
Medal Madness in Gadsden, Alabama offers three race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
The event is located at 829 Old S 4th St, Gadsden, AL 35901, just behind the Gadsden Mall. The organizer notes that GPS devices may direct runners to a small building on Old S 4th Street; in that case enter the parking lot from Old S. 4 Street and turn right to reach the venue.
All courses run on a pea gravel trail and use out-and-back segments. The 5K and 10K use a 0.78 mile segment that forms a 1.56 mile out-and-back; the 5K repeats that out-and-back twice and the 10K repeats it four times. The half marathon uses an out-and-back segment noted as 1.09 miles and 3.18 miles for the out-and-back; the half repeats that out-and-back six times.
Packet pickup is available beginning 30 minutes before the race and ending 10 minutes before the race. All entrants must register online through RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, and $65 for the half marathon. A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes applies.
