38th annual 5K and 1-mile fun run
The event is an annual running fundraiser held in Rainbow City on August 21, 2027, at Rainbow City Hall, 3700 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow City, AL 35906. It is organized to honor the life of a Southside High School student and cross country athlete who died in 1992. The Southside High School Wrestling Team sponsors the event as its main fundraising activity.

Registration fees are listed as $30 for the 5K, $10 per high school cross country team participant, $5 for the fun run, and $15 for a shirt-only purchase or to add a shirt to a registration. A limited number of shirts will be available for purchase on race day for $20 while supplies last. Registration opens July 1, 2027 and closes for most entries on August 21, 2027; the shirt-only registration closes earlier on August 9, 2027.
Awards include top overall male and female winners and the top two male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups are 12 and under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus.
