US Road Running - Gadsden
The US Road Running event in Gadsden, Alabama, takes place at James Martin Trail Park, located behind the Gadsden Mall. Participants navigate a course designed on a pea gravel trail, which provides a distinct running surface compared to standard pavement. Registration is required through RunSignup prior to the event, as no on-site registration is available. Packet pickup is conducted at the event location shortly before the start.
The event features several race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The 5K and 10K courses utilize a 1.56-mile out-and-back loop. Runners completing the 5K distance finish two laps of this loop, while 10K participants complete four laps. The Half Marathon uses a different 3.18-mile out-and-back loop, which runners must complete six times to finish the distance.
All participants are subject to a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. In addition to the competitive aspects of the event, there is an optional costume contest.
