Event overview

The Chief Ladiga race weekend in Jacksonville, Alabama takes place on April 11, 2026. The event is organized by Zombie Trail Races and is the fifth edition. Races offered include the following distances:

  • 100 Mile
  • 50 Mile
  • 50K
  • 13.1 (Half Marathon)

All runners receive a t-shirt. Finishers of the 100-mile event receive a buckle/finisher medal. Food, beverages, and music are provided at the finish area.

Course and logistics

The 100-mile course runs out from and back to the Jacksonville Community Center, using the Chief Ladiga Trail and crossing onto the Silver Comet Trail to Nathan Dean Park in Rockmart, Georgia before returning. The surface is paved; the 50-mile route runs from Germania Springs (about 3 miles from the Jacksonville Community Center) to the state line and back. The 50K is point-to-point from the state line, with Esom Hill cited as a nearby access point. The half marathon runs point-to-point from Eubanks Welcome Center in Piedmont to the Jacksonville Community Center.

There are 14 aid stations on the course, spaced no more than 8 miles apart, and crews can access most of them. Total elevation gain and loss for the full course is around 3,500 ft. The 100-mile event has a 32-hour cutoff. A shuttle option is available for a fee. Jacksonville is located off I-20 roughly one hour’s drive from Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL.
