Chief Ladiga 100
The Chief Ladiga 100 is a multi-distance trail event held in Jacksonville, AL, organized by Zombie Trail Races. The event uses a long paved trail that runs through wetlands, streams, forests, farmlands and offers distant mountain views.
Distances include:
- 100 miles : out-and-back Jacksonville, AL to Nathan Dean Park, Rockmart, GA
- 50 miles : Germania Springs to the state line and back to Jacksonville Community Center
- 50K : point-to-point from the state line; Esom Hill is a 30 minute drive from Jacksonville
- Half marathon : point-to-point from Eubanks Welcome Center in Piedmont to Jacksonville Community Center
The 100-mile course is primarily smooth pavement and is described as crew friendly. There are 14 aid station stops, crews can access all but two, and no aid station is more than eight miles apart. Total elevation gain and loss for the 100-mile course is around 3,500 feet. The 100-mile distance has a 32 hour cutoff. At the finish the event provides food, beverages and music; all runners receive a T-shirt and finishers receive a buckle or finisher medal.
Jacksonville is located between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL along I-20, with roughly one hour drive time from either city. Hotels are available in and around Jacksonville. A shuttle option is offered for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
