Chief Ladiga 100
The event in Jacksonville, AL in April 2027 features multiple distance races on a paved trail through the foothills of the Appalachians. Course scenery includes wetlands, streams, forests, farmland, and mountain views. The main 100 mile race follows a 50 mile out-and-back route to Nathan Dean Park in Rockmart, GA and back to Jacksonville Community Center, with total elevation gain and loss around 3,500 ft. Aid stations are placed no more than 8 miles apart; there are 14 stops and crews can access all but two.
Other distances include:
- 100 Mile: 50 miles to Nathan Dean Park in Rockmart then return to Jacksonville
- 50 Mile: out-and-back from Germania Springs to state line and back to Jacksonville
- 50K: point-to-point from the state line, start near Esom Hill
- Half Marathon: point-to-point from Eubanks Welcome Center in Piedmont to Jacksonville
Organizers note the course is crew friendly. The 100 mile event has a 32 hour cutoff. The finish area provides food, beverages, music, and other amenities. All entrants receive a t-shirt and finishers receive a buckle or finisher medal. A shuttle option is available for $20. Jacksonville is located along I-20 between Atlanta and Birmingham with about a one hour drive from either city and has nearby lodging options.
