Shepherd's Cove Race to Remember 2026
The Shepherd's Cove Race to Remember is a community running event held at Old Mill Park in Boaz, Alabama. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Shepherd's Cove Hospice and features multiple participation options:
- 5K (chip timed): A race conducted on a USATF certified trail.
- 1-Mile Fun Run: A shorter course often identified as a fun run.
- Sleep Walker: A registration category for those who wish to support the cause without physically participating in the races.
The 5K takes place on a certified trail within the park grounds. Participants are invited to wear glowing accessories to illuminate the evening course. The event schedule includes a Miracle League opening lap followed by the 5K shotgun start and the subsequent 1-mile run.
Food vendors are available on-site, with specific provisions included for paid participants. Awards are presented for the top three male and female finishers in the 5K, as well as the top two finishers in various age categories ranging from 5-9 to 80 and over. The 1-mile fun run also recognizes the top three finishers. T-shirts are provided to participants who register by the early April deadline, with limited availability for those registering later. Packet pick-up is organized across several days at locations in Huntsville, Albertville, and Boaz. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
