Crack Of Dawn Dash
The Crack Of Dawn Dash takes place in downtown Lenoir, North Carolina on July 11, 2026. The event offers two distances and uses city streets, some side roads, and a section of the Lenoir Greenway.

- 5K
The 10K course consists of two loops that allow runners to pass the start and finish area at the halfway point. The 10K is the official Foothills Run Series distance and only 10K results will count toward the series final standings.
Registration details are provided for each distance. Registration opens April 1 and closes May 23 for both distances. Published registration fees are $40.00 for the 10K and $30.00 for the 5K. The organizer offers an FRS April Bundle during April that applies a 10% discount to the lowest price when registering for all five FRS events at once and includes a limited edition FRS performance shirt; shirt style and size follow the event t-shirt selections unless the race director is given different choices. The bundle shirt is distributed at packet pickup of the first race in the series.
Packet pickup is available before race day at Liquid Roots Brewing and on race day at the event. Complimentary fresh hot Southern biscuits will be provided by Biscuitville Of Lenoir while they last. A coffee truck will offer coffee and specialty drinks for purchase.
Awards are specified for each distance. The 10K awards include top 3 overall male and female placements with custom awards and Mountain Running Company gift certificates of $35, $30, and $25 respectively; masters winners and age group top 3 receive custom awards or medals across standard age divisions. The 5K awards include top 3 overall male and female placements with gift certificates of $30, $25, and $20 respectively, masters awards, and age group medals across the same age divisions.
