Race Overview
US Road Running organizes the Medal Madness event in Panama City Beach, Florida. This event features multiple race distances held on out and back courses. All participants are required to register through RunSignup, as there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event. Packet pickup is conducted shortly before the race begins.
Course Details
The event utilizes specific routes depending on the selected distance. The 5K and 10K courses are based on a 0.78-mile out and back segment, totaling 1.56 miles per lap. The Half Marathon uses a 1.09-mile out and back segment, totaling 2.18 miles per lap. Participants must follow the course for a designated number of repetitions:
- 5K: Participants complete the course two times.
- 10K: Participants complete the course four times.
- Half Marathon: Participants complete the course six times.
There is a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances.
Participation and Awards
Every runner who completes their race receives a finisher medal. While not mandatory, participants have the option to wear costumes during the event.
