About the race
Girls on the Run South Central Alabama closes each season with a 5K Celebration that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The event takes place on November 14, 2026, at Cloverdale Park in Montgomery, Alabama, and features a 5K course of 3.1 miles.
The celebration is non-competitive and designed so participants can walk, run, roll, push or skip at their own pace. Every registered Girls on the Run participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are pre-registered through the council and do not need to register again; family members and community participants may join but must register separately. All registrations include a liability waiver.
Safety measures include required race bibs for every participant, a running buddy system, course monitoring and head counts, and trained staff and volunteers following a safety plan. Designated parking and accessible course options are available for participants with disabilities.
The event includes additional activities such as face painting, happy hair stations, bling your bib and merchandise sales. Volunteers support setup, registration, course marshaling, running buddies, water stations and cheer stations.
