Event Overview
The Pirate 5K, 10K, & 13.1M is a themed running event held at Ben Geren Regional Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Part of the US Road Running series, this event features multiple distances conducted on out-and-back courses. The race takes place at 7200 Zero St, with parking available in the lot across from the playground.
Participants can choose from three main distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
Course Details
The courses are designed as loops that runners complete multiple times to reach their specific distance. The 5K and 10K utilize a 0.78-mile out-and-back segment (1.56 miles total). The 5K participants complete this course twice, while the 10K participants complete it four times. The Half Marathon uses a 1.09-mile out-and-back segment (2.18 miles per loop) and requires six completions of the circuit.
Participation and Regulations
All participants must register through the RunSignup platform as no on-site registration is available. Packet pickup is conducted at the event site shortly before the start. The event has a total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Finishers receive a medal upon completion of their race. The event also encourages participation in a best costume contest.
