6th Annual Half CRAZY Half Marathon and 5K
The Half CRAZY event takes place in Mineral Wells, Texas. The race starts in the downtown area under the CRAZY Water Sign. The course travels through the city and into the hills of Palo Pinto County. Participants on the longer route pass landmarks such as the Baker Hotel before returning to the finish line in the downtown district.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 1 Mile (Fun Run)
Both the half marathon and the 5K use a USATF certified course. The routes include hilly terrain, and runners share the roads with vehicle traffic. The 5K is an out and back route, while the 1 mile fun run allows for both running and walking. The event is chip-timed, and results are recorded electronically.
Participants in the half marathon receive a limited edition hoodie and a medal. 5K participants receive a T-shirt and a medal. All participants in these two categories receive specific food items and a beverage after the race. Cash prizes are awarded to the overall male and female winners of the half marathon. The event serves as a fundraiser for the United Way of Palo Pinto County to support local community needs. Packet pickup is available the evening before the race at a local wine bar or on the morning of the event at Poston Square. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
