Haitian Hustle 5K: Bemidji
The Haitian Hustle in Bemidji is an annual community run that raises support for Grace Emmanuel School in Haiti. This edition is the fourth time the event is held in Bemidji; the Hustle series has supported the school since 2011. The event is based at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji and uses a route that includes gravel road, trails through the woods, and pavement.
Race options and fees include:
- 5K : $25
- Kids races (age 10 and under) : $15
Online registration closed on July 26; race day registration is available at the event, though T-shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants. Parking is available at Oak Hills Christian College, with an upper lot serving as overflow. Kids races take place on Mission Field. Strollers are allowed, and the organizers note that strollers with larger wheels are better suited to the mixed route. Dogs are not permitted on campus.
The 5K is an unofficial race for timing and results. Awards are given to the first three male and first three female finishers. Sponsors who donate $100 or more have their business name or logo added to the back of the race T-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
