2027 Winter Hains Point 5k and 10k
This event on January 3, 2027 takes place at Hains Point in Washington, DC. It offers two measured distances and awards overall and age-group places. Points earned count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and also toward the Winter Series.
The course follows a paved road around Hains Point alongside the river and is described as flat. The 5k is an out-and-back once and the 10k is two laps of the same route. The Back of the Pack pace time for this course is 11:00.
Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. There is a virtual run option for those who cannot attend in person. Packet pickup is available at the event; registrants are advised to allow time to check in before their race. There will be no on-site race registration for this event.
Support and logistics include port-a-johns near the start and finish area, multiple water stations along each course with Gatorade available at some, live race results and runner tracking, and parking spaces around Hains Point using the event GPS location.
Registration fees vary by distance and change by set deadlines; t-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before December 21. The event partners with Operation Turbo for charity support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
