Habitat Hustle 5K and Fun Run : Orange Beach
The Habitat Hustle is an inaugural community running event in Orange Beach that benefits gopher tortoise conservation and research at Gulf State Park. The event includes in-person and virtual race options, plus educational booths about gopher tortoises and their habitat.

- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 5K Students (3.1 miles)
- Fun Run (1 mile)
- Kids Fun Run (1 mile)
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles)
Registration opens January 21 and closes for in-person events on April 10; the virtual option has an earlier closing date of March 15. Standard registration fees are listed for each category in advance. Day of registration is available at the event with payment accepted by cash, card, or check; higher day of fees apply. A limited number of shirts will be available for purchase on race day.
The 5K course uses local trails and facilities including Orange Beach Sportsplex, Twin Bridges Trail, Catman Trail, Cross Park Trail, and Gulf Oak Ridge Trail. 5K age divisions are 10 and under; 11 to 18; 19 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; and 60 plus.
