Gwi-Zhetomen Ode 5K and 1 Mile Trail Challenge
The Gun Lake Tribe Health and Human Services presents the fifth annual Gwi-Zhetomen Ode event at Camp Jijak in Hopkins, Michigan, held Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, 2026. The event combines short-distance races with a longer endurance option that asks participants to set a personal mileage goal within a 24-hour period.

- 5K run/walk
- 1 mile Trail Challenge
- 24 in 24 miles challenge, participants set a personal mileage goal
Online registration closes September 11. Registrations received by August 21 will receive a tee shirt. Day-of registration and packet pickup are available on site beginning in the morning.
The event accepts donations for K9 Camo Companions. Prizes are awarded to first place in each age group for the 5K run. Challenge coins and a finisher shirt are provided to 24 in 24 participants. Age divisions for the 5K include: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up. Participants must attend on the event day to receive event swag.
