GWB Challenge

The GWB Challenge is a fundraising sports event organized to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event provides a unique opportunity for participants to traverse the George Washington Bridge while it is closed to vehicular traffic. The venue is located at 220 Bruce Reynolds Blvd in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

Participants can choose between two main distances, with options available for both runners and walkers:

  • 3.1 Miles (5K) Run or Walk
  • 6.2 Miles (10K) Run or Walk

The event focuses on supporting cancer research and patient services through participant registration fees and donations. Because the course takes place on the world's busiest bridge, it offers expansive views of the surrounding area. Registration for all event categories remains open until the day of the event. The course is accessible to those who prefer walking as well as those who wish to run the full distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
