About the race
GF5 is a chip timed 5 mile road race organised by Tewkesbury Running Club on country lanes around Tewkesbury on 1 November 2026. The course is described as flat with very little traffic and follows a 'frying pan' shape that runs anti-clockwise for most of the route. Runners cross a wide footpath with three marshalled road crossings, pass over the M5 twice (the only places with noticeable inclines), and are required to keep to the left where instructed. Marshals and signage, including mile markers, are in place at key points.
Race HQ and registration are at Tewkesbury Sports Hall, Ashchurch Road GL20 8DF (what3words stowing.rucksack.grafted). Race numbers and timing chips are issued in the sports hall; results, presentations and medal collection are also located there. Timing chips must be removed and returned to collection buckets after the finish.
The course is not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies because of surface and recent road modifications. Earphones are not permitted on public roads under UKA rules and may lead to disqualification. A supervised bag drop is provided; bags should be labelled.
Limited parking is available at the school with additional parking off Shannon Way, at Morrisons and at the Cotswold Designer Outlet car park (parking what3words shifting.newlywed.wonderfully). Orchard Catering will offer drinks and hot food. First aid provision will be on site. Prizes include trophies for overall male and female winners, 1st to 3rd places, and age category vouchers; juniors are under 20 and age categories use five year bands. The event supports Goals Beyond Grass, charity number 1167624. Race licence status is TBC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
