Event Overview
The Wineglass Race Series takes place in the Southern Finger Lakes region, centered around the historic city of Corning, New York. This event series includes various distances held over a weekend, featuring both point-to-point and loop courses that are USATF certified and sanctioned.
The event weekend includes the following race distances:
- 26.2 Miles (Full Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 5K
The full marathon is a fast, flat, point-to-point course that serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The half marathon also follows a point-to-point route, starting in Campbell and finishing on Market Street in Corning. For those participating in the 5K, the course begins at the Corning Painted Post High School, crosses a bridge to Tioga Avenue, and finishes at the Corning Memorial Stadium.
Participants can choose a VIP registration option for the longer distances, which includes luxury bus transportation to the start line with coffee and breakfast items. A portion of the VIP fees supports the Wineglass Scholarship Fund. Runners participating in the marathon have a course time limit of 6.5 hours, while half marathon participants have a limit of 7 hours.
The weekend begins with a Health and Fitness Expo on Friday. Runners who complete the Wineglass 8K in May along with the 5K and either the Full or Half Marathon in October are eligible for the Riesling or Pinot Challenge.
