Wineglass Race Series in Corning, NY
The Wineglass Race Series is an annual multi-race event held in the Corning, New York region. The 2026 series marks the 45th running of the Guthrie Wineglass Marathon and takes place in early October. Organizers describe the marathon course as fast and note that many runners use it to attempt Boston Marathon qualifying times. All 2026 Wineglass courses are USATF certified and the event is a USATF sanctioned series.
The Guthrie Wineglass Marathon is a point-to-point course that begins in Bath, NY and travels through Savona, Campbell (the half marathon start), Coopers Plains, and Painted Post before finishing on Market Street in Corning. Because of the point-to-point layout and safety requirements, runners in the full and half marathons must take a bus to their respective start locations and must show their bib before boarding; there is no race day bib pick up for these races.
The series includes additional events and challenges and offers opportunities to combine running with regional activities such as wine tasting, local breweries, shopping, and museum visits. The Wegmans Wineglass Half Marathon has sold out in previous years. The Guthrie Wineglass Marathon is included in the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group World Rankings qualifying series.
