Wineglass Marathon race series in Corning New York
The Wineglass Race Series is a set of road races organized by Corning Classic Charities that includes a full marathon, half marathon, 8K, 5K, and a kids run along with the Pinot and Riesling challenge options. The Guthrie Wineglass Marathon is in its 45th year and uses a point to point course that travels from Bath through Savona, Campbell, Coopers Plains, and Painted Post to a finish on Market Street in Corning with a tree lined approach to the finish.
The series is USATF certified and sanctioned and is used by many runners as a Boston Marathon qualifying race. The marathon course falls within Boston Marathon net elevation drop standards and therefore requires no qualifying adjustment. The Wegmans half marathon has historically sold out. Due to safety and logistics all marathon and half marathon participants must ride buses to their start locations and show their bibs before boarding; there is no race day bib pick up.
The event emphasizes runner experience and community support. Organizers cite thousands of volunteers and a mission to highlight the region and give back to the community. The local area offers wine tasting, breweries, shopping, and museums that are frequently mentioned alongside the race. Registration for the 2026 Wineglass Race Series opens on December 1 2025.
