GTC Red White and Blue Shoes 5k
The GTC Red White and Blue Shoes 5k is a running event held on the campus of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Scheduled for July 4, 2026, the race features a 5 km course that is USATF certified. Participation is limited to 1,300 runners, and those who join receive a runner's cap.
The route begins in the parking lot adjacent to the north stands of Paladin Stadium. Runners circle the campus mall and the Duke Library before crossing the dam at Swan Lake. The path continues along a paved trail around the lake, utilizing a footbridge at the north end. After passing the Amphitheater and traveling along Bell Tower Road and Roe Ford Road, the course returns to the mall area. The final segment leads participants around the circle in front of the Physical Activities Center and through the back gate of the stadium. The finish line is located at the 50-yard line inside Paladin Stadium.
Proceeds from the event support the Blue Shoes Track Scholarship program. This initiative provide scholarships to student athletes to promote achievement in both athletics and academics.
