GTC Red White and Blue Shoes 5K
The event is a 5K road race held on July 4, 2026, on the Furman University campus in Greenville, South Carolina (3300 Poinsett Hwy, 29613). The course is USATF certified and record eligible.
The route begins in the parking lot adjacent to the north stands at Paladin Stadium, circles the mall, and loops around the Duke Library. It crosses the dam at Swan Lake, follows the paved path around the lake using the new footbridge at the north end, and passes the Amphitheater. The course continues left on Bell Tower Road to Roe Ford Road, returns to the mall, rounds the circle in front of the PAC, proceeds down the driveway to the North Stands, and enters the back gate of the stadium to finish at the 50 yard line at Paladin Stadium.
Race services include a high quality runners cap for 5K participants. The field is limited to 1250 participants. A kids race takes place in the stadium after the 5K; it is free and no separate entry is required. Strollers and dogs are permitted but must start at the back and dogs must be on a leash.
Registration opens February 1, 2026 and closes April 30, 2026. The listed registration fee is $25. Proceeds support the Blue Shoes Track Scholarship program, which provides scholarships to student athletes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
