Event Overview
The GTC Red White and Blue Shoes 5k takes place on July 4th on the campus of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. The event is limited to 1200 participants.
Race Details
The course is a 5k distance and is USATF certified. It starts in the parking lot next to the north stands of Paladin Stadium. The route circles the campus mall, loops around Duke Library, and crosses the dam at Swan Lake. Runners take a paved path around the lake, using a new footbridge at its north end. The course passes the Amphitheater, turns left onto Bell Tower Road, then right onto Roe Ford Road before returning to the mall. The final stretch rounds the circle in front of the PAC, goes down a driveway to the North Stands, and finishes inside Paladin Stadium at the 50-yard line.
Participant Information
All 5k participants receive a high-quality runner's cap. Proceeds from the race benefit the Blue Shoes Track Scholarship program, which provides scholarships to student athletes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
