Grim Leodis
Grim Leodis is a trail running event based at the canal just off Wyther Lane in Kirkstall. The primary route is an undulating 6.55 mile loop that combines canal towpath, river bank, trail and a short road section. The course is run as laps and includes a mix of surfaces.
Support on the course includes signing and marshals. Well stocked feed stations are placed at roughly three mile intervals and the event operates a cup-less approach; runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. GPX files for navigation are available because not every corner or junction will have a marshal.
Key event details include a 6.5 hour cut off for completion and Trail Running Association licensing under UKA rules. Parking is provided at Morrison in Kirkstall and is currently free all day. There are stated age limits for some distances and entry fees vary across the offered events. Withdrawal during the event should be reported to the nearest marshal and some transfers or deferrals can be managed online.
The event provides a bespoke finisher's medal and post‑race goodies. Large over‑ear headphones are banned; bone conducting or single ear in ear pieces are permitted where needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
