Run for Intentional New Beginnings
The Grievances & Gratitude Run is a community running event held in Long Beach, California. Organized by CaliFlow Runs, this event focuses on providing a space for physical movement and emotional reset at the start of the year. Participants have the opportunity to engage in a symbolic release experience before the run by writing down frustrations or stress to leave behind.
The event features three distinct distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The race takes place on USATF-certified courses that are professionally chip-timed. These are open courses along a beach path, meaning participants share the space with other pedestrians and beachgoers. The route is clearly marked and includes three water stations and accessible restrooms along the way. While there is no requirement for participants to purchase event shirts, every finisher receives a medal.
Additional features include free race-day photos and a post-run activity where participants can select positive affirmations from a mantra board. Awards are presented to the top three men and women in each distance. The event is open to all, including runners, walkers, and those using strollers. Parking options at the location include both free street parking and metered spaces. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
