Greenway Grand Prix
The Greenway Grand Prix is a series of four road races held on Huntsville-area greenways on separate dates. The series uses local greenway corridors and follows out-and-back courses with very little elevation change. The four events together form one Grand Prix series.
Distances and locations:
- 5K: Aldridge Creek Greenway, start and finish near Ken Johnston Park.
- 4 Mile: Indian Creek Greenway, start and finish near Creekwood Park.
- 8K: Big Cove Creek Greenway, start a short walk from Hampton Cove Elementary to the greenway entrance behind Publix; finish near the school.
- 10K: Aldridge Creek Greenway, start and finish at Ditto Landing.
Parking and logistics notes included by the organizer advise carpooling. For the Aldridge Creek events, parking is suggested in the back of the Publix parking lot at 12796 Bailey Cove Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35803. The Indian Creek event notes very limited parking at the greenway and possible overflow into nearby neighborhood streets; the 8K identifies Hampton Cove Elementary and a Publix near the greenway entrance. Addresses are provided for specific venues.
Entry options include a four-race bundle and individual race entries. The four-race bundle includes a race t-shirt and a finisher medal; the t-shirt is distributed at the first race and the finisher medal at the final race. Individual entries may add a t-shirt for an additional fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
