Greater St. Louis Marathon
The Greater St. Louis Marathon takes place in downtown St. Louis on April 11, 2026. The event features revised courses that pass notable city landmarks and includes the return of the National Running Club Championships and Rally. Festivities begin downtown and conclude with a post race gathering that includes live music and local food.
Distances offered include:
- Full marathon
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
- Early Start option for full and half participants who meet eligibility
The Early Start option is available for walkers who expect longer finish times and requires proof of a recent marathon or half marathon time for approval. Eligible walkers are those planning finishes within specified windows for each distance. Early starters receive official timing and finisher recognition. The program provides a lead and tail vehicle, several pacers, aid stations, volunteer support, and safety requirements such as a reflective item and a headlamp or light before daylight. A pacer will accompany the fastest early start group and participants may not move ahead of that pacer.
Course maps are published and noted as subject to change. Course time limits are enforced for safety and permitting, including a 6.5 hour limit for the full marathon and a 3 hour 15 minute limit for the half marathon. The 10K and 5K have maximum pace limits on course.
Registration includes an event shirt, finisher medal, on course hydration and nutrition, gear check, medical support, race photography, massage therapy, volunteer support, and a post race party with local food and drinks. VIP access is available for an additional purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
