The Great West Run
The Great West Run takes place on Sunday 23 May 2027 and includes multiple race distances held at Exeter Arena. The event village is located at Exeter Arena, Exhibition Field, Summer Ln, Exeter EX4 8NT, where race packs and registration are managed.
Distances offered:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- Community Mile
Age requirements are specified by distance: runners must be 17 or older for the half marathon and 15 or older for the 10K. There is no minimum age for the Community Mile, but younger participants should be accompanied by an adult.
Entries close at 23:59 on 18 May or when capacity is reached. On-the-day entries are not accepted. Online entrants receive confirmation by email via the Let’s Do This platform. Race packs are posted in the weeks before the event; late entrants will be told if they must collect packs from the registration desk in the event village.
There is a bag drop in the event village; each item is tagged to match the race bib and items are left at the owner’s risk. Fancy dress is permitted with consideration for other runners. The race enforces course cutoffs including an overall limit of 3 hours 30 minutes and a 4-mile checkpoint at 1 hour 10 minutes; participants behind the required pace may be directed onto an alternate route. A pacing team will cover a range of finish times. Entries can be transferred or deferred under the organiser's stated deadlines and conditions, and refunds are available only within seven days of signing up.
