About the race
The Brighter Futures 5K is the ninth annual running event held on the Lancaster Junction Recreation Trail in Manheim, Pennsylvania (99 Champ Boulevard, 17545). All proceeds support the Friends of Pam Reynolds Memorial Scholarship, part of Kids' Chance of PA's named scholar partner program.
The course is a chip-timed, crushed stone trail described as flat and shaded. The event offers both in-person and virtual entry options. In-person participants may receive a goody bag if they preregister by 10/31. Virtual participants are not eligible for swag bags or awards; submitting a time by the event deadline may enter them into a prize drawing.
Race amenities listed by the organizer include door prizes (winners must be present), a water station, restrooms, free parking, pre-race coffee, and post-race refreshments. On-site registration and bib pick-up are provided on the morning of the event.
In-person awards for the 5K include cash prizes for overall finishers: first place $100, second place $50, and third place $25 for male and female overall winners. The top three male and female finishers in each age group receive recognition; age groups include 19 and under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 and over. Award recipients must be present to receive prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
