York 5K - 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Mid State PA York 5K is a season-ending, celebratory event held on November 15, 2026, at York College, Grumbacher Sport & Fitness Center (899 S Richland Ave, York, PA 17403). The event uses a 5K (3.1 miles) course and is organized as an untimed celebration rather than a competitive race. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
Online registration for the 5K runs from September 18 through November 5, with a standard online fee of $30 and a day-of-event registration fee of $35. Participants who register by October 19 are guaranteed a Girls on the Run 5K shirt. A Spirit on the Course sign may be ordered by October 31 for an additional $20. Program participants are pre-registered and do not need to register again.
The council describes several safety and accessibility measures: race bibs are required, each program participant is paired with a running buddy, the course is monitored with head counts, and a safety plan guides staff and volunteers. Designated accessible parking is available and the course can accommodate walking, rolling, pushing, or running. The event includes a Friends and Family Zone with creative activities, temporary tattoos and face jewels, merchandise, and a photo booth. Volunteer roles include registration, cheer stations, course crew, spirit runners, water stations, and course clean up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
