The 2026 Great Trek
The Great Trek is a running event taking place on Saturday, October 24, 2026. It is held on the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus, on Musqueam territory, in Vancouver.
The event offers several distances:
- A 21.1 km half marathon.
- A 10 km race.
- A 5 km race.
- A 36.1 km Hat-Trick combo challenge.
Registration includes a race bib with a timing chip, post-race drinks and food, and a gear check service. Participants also receive a $25 discount at Forerunners (with a minimum $75 spend). Medals are available for all finishers of the 21.1 km, 10 km, and 5 km distances.
A limited quantity of shirts or gloves is available as a race giveaway. Alternatively, runners can select a 'GREEN BIB' option to skip the giveaway and save slightly on registration fees.
Package pickup is race week only, from Tuesday to Friday, at the Forerunners store on Main Street. There is no package pickup available on race day.
The event is connected to a fundraiser for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation. Completing the Great Trek counts toward the RUNVAN® Grand Slam prize, awarded to runners who finish four RUNVAN® events in the same calendar year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
