Event Overview
The AJ Bell Great South Run is a 10-mile running event held in Portsmouth. The 2026 edition is scheduled for October 18.
The Route
The course is described as a fairly flat and fast route, making it accessible for first-time participants. It is a seaside run that features views of the sea. Participants can expect to run past some of Portsmouth's famous landmarks, including a section near HMS Victory.

The standard entry fee is £51, with a final price of £53 and a £3.00 booking fee per entry. Participants receive a race number personalized with their name, an official finisher's medal, an exclusive finisher's t-shirt, and a goodie bag. Practical Information
The minimum age to participate is 16. The event uses a wave start system, with waves designated by color (Orange, Green, Pink). Baggage storage is available at the start/finish area on Castle Field. There is an optional initiative where entrants can forgo their finisher t-shirt, prompting the organizers to make a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal. Several charities are official partners for the event, including Alzheimer's Society, Cancer Research UK, and the British Heart Foundation.
