AJ Bell Great South Run
The AJ Bell Great South Run is a 10 mile road race held in Portsmouth on 18 October 2026. The course starts and finishes on the north end of Avenue De Caen and runs along the seafront, offering sea views and several city landmarks, including a route past HMS Victory.
The route is described as a fairly flat, fast course. Local supporters, music and on-course entertainment are present along the route. Event waves are allocated from estimated times; runners may assemble with a slower wave but cannot move to a faster wave.
Participants in the 10 mile race must be aged 16 or over on the day. Race numbers contain a timing chip and are posted to most entrants from around four weeks before the event; last-minute or overseas entries collect numbers from the information point. A booking fee of £3.00 per entry is applied at checkout. Filming, streaming and photography are not permitted within the naval base.
Baggage buses operate from a marquee on Castle Field and bags are collected using the race number. Official event day photos are available to view and purchase. Finishers receive a medal and may purchase an optional finisher t shirt; a finisher bag is provided. A free event day tracking app provides live tracking, split times and results.
