AJ Bell Great South Run
The AJ Bell Great South Run is a 10 mile road race in Portsmouth that starts and finishes on the north end of Avenue De Caen. Participants run along the seafront and pass city landmarks, with views of the coast noted as part of the route. Participants must be aged 16 or over on race day and a booking fee of £3.00 per entry is applied at checkout.
The course is described by the organiser as fairly flat and fast. The event includes music and roadside support from local spectators. Waves are allocated based on estimated finish time; runners may move to a slower wave by assembling with a later wave but cannot move to a faster wave.
Race numbers contain timing chips and are sent out from about four weeks before the event. Last-minute or overseas entrants collect their race number from the information point. Baggage buses operate from a marquee on Castle Field; runners must attach the provided baggage label and use their race number to collect bags after the race.
Official event services include an event day tracking app with split times and results, professional event photos available to purchase, a finisher medal, an optional finishers t shirt and a finisher bag.
