Event overview
The AJ Bell Great South Run takes place in Portsmouth on 18 October 2026. The event is a 10 mile road race that starts and finishes on the north end of Avenue De Caen. Participants must be aged 16 or older on the day. Wave starts are used and are allocated based on estimated finish times; runners may move to a slower wave on the day but cannot move to a faster wave.
Entry, logistics and services
Entry pricing listed a saver price and a final price, with a booking fee applied at checkout and limited Super Earlybird places for the first 1,000 entries. Race numbers include timing chips and are posted 1-2 weeks before the event; last-minute or overseas entries collect numbers from the information point. Baggage buses operate from a marquee on Castle Field and baggage labels must be attached before arrival. The event offers a free event-day tracking app with live tracking, results and photos, official event photos available to view and purchase, and free 10-mile training plans.
What finishers receive and environmental option
Finishers receive a medal, a finishers t-shirt (optional) and a finisher’s bag. Runners can choose to forgo a finisher tee at entry; a portion of the fulfilment costs for those who opt out is donated to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal, with a donation commitment referenced in the event information.
