AJ Bell Great South Run (19 October 2025)
The AJ Bell Great South Run is a 10 mile road race held in Portsmouth. The course starts and finishes on the north end of Avenue De Caen and runs along the South Coast, passing city landmarks including HMS Victory. The organisers describe the route as fairly flat and note that the course may be subject to change. Participants must be aged 16 or over on the day for the 10 mile event.
Race logistics and services
Waves are allocated by estimated finishing time; runners may assemble with a later wave to move to a slower start but cannot move to a faster wave. Race numbers include a timing chip and are posted 1-2 weeks before the event; late or overseas entries can collect numbers from the information point. Baggage buses are provided in a marquee on Castle Field. The event offers a free tracking app for live tracking and photo viewing, official event photos for purchase, and access to runner-only discounts via the Great Run Rewards platform.
What entrants receive and charity options
Finishers receive a medal, a finisher’s bag and an exclusive finisher t-shirt (the t-shirt is optional; choosing not to receive one triggers a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal).
