Pumpkin Run : Half Moon Bay (October 18, 2026)
The Pumpkin Run in Half Moon Bay is an annual community road race that benefits Senior Coastsiders. The event is held on October 18, 2026, and features races along the Pacific coastline and the Coastal Trail. Every participant receives a pumpkin.

- 10K run/walk
- Half marathon on the Coastal Trail
- Kids Fun Run/Walk through the Hatch Elementary neighborhood
The event is community powered and all registration proceeds support programs and services for older adults on the Coastside. The race has a participant cap of 1,550 runners and historically sells out. Packet pick-up is offered at multiple sponsor-hosted locations beginning up to two weeks before race day, including local running stores and markets such as A Runner’s Mind, New Leaf Community Market, and Empowered Fitness.
Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on the course or in event areas. Service animals, as defined by California law, are allowed but must remain leashed or harnessed and under handler control; misrepresenting a pet as a service animal is a misdemeanor under California law.
Volunteer roles include directing runners on course, assisting with packet pick-up, distributing medals and goodie bags, supporting bag drop, and helping with set-up and clean-up.
