42nd Annual Great Pumpkin Race 5K
The event takes place in Pensacola on October 24, 2026, with a course that begins at 12th Avenue and Moreno Street and winds through the scenic and historic East Hill neighborhood. The race attracts close to 1,200 participants each year. Proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Cathedral School and are used for capital improvements to the school's buildings and grounds.

Registration for most events opens May 22, 2026, with wheelchair registration opening May 23, 2026; registration closes October 18, 2026. Fees listed include an individual 5K registration fee of $30 and a team registration fee of $25. Team pricing details note Elementary and Middle School teams at $15, High School (ages 15-18) at $17.50, and Adult (19+) at $20. Team registration ends at 11:59 PM on Friday, October 23, 2026. Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed after October 2, 2026. Teams that register or add members after October 16, 2026 will not be able to pick up team packets prior to packet pick-up; all team packets must be picked up together by the Team Captain or a designated team member.
Awards include a $100 cash prize for overall male and female winners and Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals for the top three in each division. All participants in the 1-mile Little Pumpkin Fun Run receive an "I did it!" participation ribbon.
