Event overview
The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run takes place in Birmingham on 3 May 2026. The event offers a city-centre course for both a half marathon and a 10k. Both races start and finish in the heart of the city; route information and maps show locations including Centenary Square (Broad Street) and Smithfield. The event regularly attracts thousands of participants and many runners raise money for charities.

Entries for 2026 are open, with saver and final entry prices listed for each distance and a booking fee of £3.00 per entry. Age limits apply: runners must be at least 15 years old for the 10k and 17 years old for the half marathon on event day. The organisers provide a free event-day app for runner tracking, results and photos. Race numbers with timing chips are normally posted 1-2 weeks before the event; last-minute or overseas entries must collect numbers at the information point.
Baggage buses are located close to the start; baggage labels must be attached to bags before arrival and race numbers are used to collect bags near the finish. Waves are allocated by estimated time; participants may move to a slower wave by joining the later assembly but cannot move to a faster wave. A rolling programme of road closures will operate on event day; full details and timings are published by the organisers.
