AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run - 03 May 2026
The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run is a city running event featuring two distances: a Half Marathon and a 10k. Both events start at Centenary Square and finish on Jennens Road into Aston University’s event village. The 2026 finish has a newly updated city centre layout.
Routes pass a range of Birmingham landmarks, including the Jewellery Quarter, St Paul’s Square, the Mailbox, Grand Central at New Street Station, St Martin’s Church, Southside, Digbeth, Cannon Hill Park, Selly Park, Edgbaston Stadium and the Selfridges Building. The half marathon follows a longer route that joins the 10k for the final section into the finish.
Event services include baggage buses located near the start, personalised race numbers, official event day photography, and a free event app for live tracking, split times and results. Runners receive a new Great Birmingham Run medal and may opt for a finishers t shirt. Training plans and event day information are provided in an event guide. Entries are open to runners aged 15 and over for the 10k and 17 and over for the half marathon. There is a rolling programme of road closures on event day and roads are scheduled to be reopened later the same day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
