Event Details
The event starts at Centenary Square on Broad Street. It finishes on Jennens Road at the event village at Aston University.
The course passes several Birmingham landmarks, including the Jewellery Quarter, St Paul’s Square, the Mailbox, Grand Central at New Street Station, St Martin’s Church, Southside, and Digbeth. Half marathon runners will also go through Cannon Hill Park, Selly Park, and past Edgbaston Stadium before rejoining the 10 km route for the finish. The final stretch passes the Selfridges Building.
The routes are described as "a little mixed, with inclines and declines". Both courses feature some downhill sections in the second half. Wave starts are used, beginning from 08:30.
Age requirements are 15+ for the 10 km and 17+ for the half marathon on the event day.
Participant Experience
Registered participants receive a race number with a timing chip, typically 1-2 weeks before the event. For a fee, runners can order a personalised medal attachment with their finish time. An optional finisher t-shirt is available; choosing to forgo it generates a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal.
Participants can use a free event day app for tracking, results, and viewing official photos. Baggage buses are available near the start.
