AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run 3 May 2026
The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run comprises two mass-participation road races held in central Birmingham: a half marathon and a 10k. Both events start at Centenary Square on Broad Street and finish on Jennens Road into Aston University’s event village. The routes pass city landmarks including the Jewellery Quarter, St Paul’s Square, the Mailbox, Grand Central at New Street Station, St Martin’s Church, Southside, Digbeth and the Selfridges Building. Half marathon runners also cover Cannon Hill Park, Selly Park and Edgbaston Stadium before rejoining the 10k course for the finish.
Course profiles include a mix of inclines and declines, with downward running reported in the second half of each race (miles 8 to 13 for the half marathon; kilometres 5 to 8 for the 10k). Entries are open to runners aged 15 and over for the 10k and 17 and over for the half marathon on race day. A booking fee of £3.00 is applied per entry. Both distances sold out in 2025.
Event services include baggage buses located close to the start, race numbers that contain timing chips, and official event day photos available to view and purchase. A free event day tracking app provides live tracking, results and photos. Runners receive race information by email in the lead up to the event and should consult published event information for road closures, transport and other logistical details.
