Great Bear Run
Great Bear Run is a community running event held at Pollard Middle School, 200 Harris Avenue, Needham MA 02492. The event includes multiple races on the same day and a USATF certified and sanctioned 5K course. A water table is located at the 2 mile point on the 5K course. The event proceeds rain or shine. Refreshments such as fruit, snacks, and water or Gatorade will be available, and pizza will be sold for $4 per slice. Registration opens on January 6, 2026 and closes on May 15, 2026. Fees vary by event, from $29 to $54. Packet pickup and in-person registration take place at Pollard Middle School. Organizers recommend arriving 45 to 60 minutes before a participant's race.

- 1 Mile competitive timed race
- 1 Mile Fun Run non timed, noncompetitive
- 5K + 1 Mile combined entry option
- 26.2 meters Tiny Tot Bearathon for ages 0 to 3
- 100 meters non competitive for ages 4 to 5
- 200 meters competitive for age 6 with awards
- 400 meters competitive for ages 7 to 12 with awards
