The Event

The Graveyard Gallop 5K is a road race on Saturday, October 17, 2026. It is organized by the SOHO Running Club. The event is a fundraiser, with proceeds going directly to the Grissettown Volunteer Fire Department (District 31) to help fund lifesaving equipment.

The Course and Details

The race is a 5k distance, welcoming both runners and walkers. The course features one water stop with costumed volunteers. The event begins and ends at the Grissettown Volunteer Fire Department, located at 758 Longwood Rd NW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Packet pickup is available on Friday evening and again on Saturday near the start line.

Additional Activities

The fire department will prepare concessions. Registered participants receive a $5.00 discount on entry to the Haunted Trail, which opens at 7pm on the same evening.

Awards

The event offers cash awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female masters (40+) finishers. Age group awards are also given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
