Gravel Worlds Run Series
Gravel Worlds Run Series takes place in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday August 22, 2026 and Sunday August 23, 2026. The event features multiple footrace distances that run almost entirely on gravel and dirt roads and include notable elevation changes.
Distances offered:
- 50k (~32 miles), 2,000 ft elevation
- Half marathon (~13.1 miles), 850 ft elevation
- 10k (~6 miles), 400 ft elevation
- 5k (~3 miles), 150 ft elevation
The event is self-supported. Once a runner leaves the start line no outside support is allowed except what the race provides. Water and basic nutrition are provided at aid stations roughly every 8 to 10 km on the first half and every 5 to 7 km on the second half, with a fully stocked checkpoint just after the halfway point. GPS files and downloadable cue cards are provided and course markings are used, but runners are advised to carry navigation and personal nutrition or hydration as needed.
The route is hilly with repeated climbs and descents, averaging about 4 to 5 percent grade. Time cut-offs are applied: 3.5 hours for the half marathon and 8.5 hours for the 50k, and runners must meet intermediate checkpoints within published limits.
A two day double championship pairs bike events with the run for solo and relay divisions. Podiums, a champions jersey, and trophies are awarded in specified categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
